History

Over 65 years of successful property development

1950’s

Named after the picturesque Gade River that runs through rural Hertfordshire, Gade Group started life back in the 1951 as a subcontract steel fixer under the Finlinson name. Power stations such as Dungeness, Heysham and Sizewell all benefited from the skills and expertise of Finlinson.

1960’s

A decade later Finlinson was making off-site, pre-cast concrete structures that were used in well-known constructions such as the Dartford Tunnel, Greenwich Hospital and the White City A40 Motorway Interchange.

1970’s

In the 70’s Finlinson underwent a change of direction and transformed its 20-acre manufacturing site in St. Albans into an industrial trading estate, and the seeds were sown for its property development future.

1980’s

By the 1980’s Finlinson had transformed itself into a fully-fledged property development company with the skills and resources to tackle substantial commercial and residential developments – on its own and in partnership with 3rd party investors.

Since then, Gade has built a reputation as professional property developers, equally comfortable with the building of distinctive new homes, commercial offices and industrial estates and the restoration of historic landmarks. In addition, the company has developed a highly successful investment arm with considerable asset management experience.
