Over 65 years of successful property development

A passion for property runs in the family. It’s in our DNA and it’s what has driven our business into a seventh decade. Established by the current chairman in the 1950’s, the future direction of the Gade Group is now being shaped by the next generation.

From our offices in the South-East, Gade Group undertakes a wide variety of residential and commercial projects, both independently and in partnership. We also manage a portfolio of property investments.

1950s

Named after the picturesque Gade River that runs through rural Hertfordshire, Gade Group started life in 1951 as a subcontract steel fixer under the Finlinson name.

1960s

A decade later Finlinson was making off-site, pre-cast concrete structures that were used in well-known constructions such as the Dartford Tunnel, Greenwich Hospital and the White City A40 Motorway Interchange.

1970s

In the 70’s Finlinson underwent a change of direction and developed its 20-acre manufacturing site in St. Albans into an industrial trading estate, and the seeds were sown for its property development future.

80/90s

By the 1980’s Finlinson had transformed into a fully-fledged property development company with the skills and resources to tackle substantial commercial and residential developments both on its own and in partnership with third-party investors.

NOW

Today, we have a reputation as highly-professional property developers, as comfortable with the building of distinctive new homes, commercial offices and industrial estates, as the restoration of historic landmarks. In addition, the company has developed a highly-successful investment arm with considerable asset management experience.
